In American Sniper and Enemy at the Gates, snipers deliver a fatal ending. In reality this portrayal could not be further from the truth. Interestingly only about 1% of the sniper's operational usage involves pulling the trigger.
They are extremely highly trained soldiers who specialise in observational skills, with a very high level of intelligence information gathering techniques.
